Center of International Education Takes Part in Expert Discussion of the Foreign Students’ Training in Russia during the Pandemic

Orlova, Deputy Director of the Center of International Education, Associate Professor at the Chair of Literature and Pedagogic Technologies of Philological Education, took part in the open expert discussion under the title “Under Special Control: How was the first digital enrollment of students and what will be next”. The event was organized by IPR MEDIA and Saint Petersburg State University.
The key themes of the open expert discussion included the summarization of the foreign students' enrollment for bachelor’s, master’s, and preparatory programs in Russian universities, sharing the experience of training organization, adaptation, and creation of conditions for foreign students accommodation, choosing of new vectors and strategies of work with academic mobility.
The expert discussion took place on three sites: with heads of the universities (Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, Saint Petersburg State University, Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University, South Russian State Polytechnical University, Ufa State Oil Technological University, Astrakhan State University) with heads of international relations and experts on adaptation and support of foreign students.
Within the frameworks of the discussion, the Russian universities shared a positive experience of shifting to distant education during the pandemic. The Center of International Education of PSU also shared its successful practice of online work with students (March – June 2020) in a new reality.
