Anna Robertovna Aleksanyan graduated from the Interpreters’ Department at Pyatigorsk State Linguistic University in 2005.

She has been working at the Chair of Theory and Practice of Translation at the Institute of Translatology and Multilingualism since 2005.

In 2014 she defended her dissertation on “Metaphoric Nomination of Energy Carriers and Energy Types in German Internet Discourse” and received a degree of candidate of philological sciences in 10.02.04 – German Languages.

She gives the following classes: foreign language, foreign language (English), practical course of the translation of the first foreign language, practical course of the translation of the second foreign language.

Area of expertise: theoretic and practical issues of translatology; theoretic and practical issues of foreign language teaching; contemporary linguistic studies.

She is one of the developers and coordinators of a distant online-course on translation called “I Want to Become an Interpreter”. She also takes part in projects of Scientific and Educational Centers “Digital Humanitarian Technologies”, “Virtual Museum of PSU” and “Linguistic Corpus of Russian Literature of the Caucasus Peoples”.
