PSLU Student Wins Two out of Three Gold Medals at the European Championship

Shotokan Karate European Championship took place in Dublin, Ireland on April 2-3, 2016 with participation of athletes fr om more than 30 countries. First year student of the Institute of International Service, Tourism, and Foreign Languages, member of Russian National Team, Master of Sports Vsevolod Popov won the personal and team kumite awards among juniors (18-20 years old). Russian National Team won three gold medals in the team event, two of which were won by our student.

In personal kumite wrestles Russian team battled with competitors from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, and Lithuania. In team kumite battles with Germany, France, Czech Republic, and Hungary took place. Having won the victory at the European Championship, Vsevolod has become tenfold European champion. Previously the athlete won big Russian and international competitions, in October 2015 Vsevolod Popov became a world champion.

Now, the athletes prepares for the Russian Cup, which will take place in Moscow in September, wh ere the qualification for the European Championship in Athens, Greece will take place. We wish Vsevolod new achievements!
