Заместитель директора ВЦ ПГУ принял участие во Всероссийском форуме студенческих волонтёрских организаций
The first forum of one of the main programs of SVOI (Student Volunteer Organizations) – Association of Volunteers Centers took place in Moscow from November 12 to 16, 2019. The forum gathered more than 200 volunteers – managers and activists of students volunteer associations and centers from different regions of the Russian Federation, in order to realize their principal task - assistance for student volunteer community in having answers to all the questions on organization and development of volunteer movement in universities, integration of volunteering into educational process, as well as creation of open opportunities for barrier-free communication and experience exchange.

G.S. Mkhitaryan, Deputy Director of PSU Volunteer Center was invited to the forum as an expert, and together with Irina Alferova, Director of NARFU Volunteer Center, he organized a workshop on “Formation of the Center’s Team. Recruiting, Motivation, and Training of Volunteers” at a seminar before the forum, and shared his experience from 9 years of work at PSU Volunteer Center.

G.S. Mkhitaryan’s report at a section on “Taking Volunteer Experience into Account When Entering Educational Institution” evoked great interest and support of the forum participants on the final day of the forum. He provided useful criticism of the system of additional points crediting for volunteering to the Uniform Exam results when enrolling and expresses his opinion that the system must be completely reconsidered.

Within the framework of another section, G.S. Mkhitaryan presented one of the best practices of volunteering, implemented at PSU for 5 years, called “Volunteer’s Talking”, which was met with positive feedback.

Administration of PSU Volunteer Center pays gratitude to Artem Metelev, Chairman of the Association of Volunteer Centers, Aleksandr Teterko and Georgy Papazyan, Coordinators of SVOI program, as well as to the whole team of the Association of Volunteer Centers for the organization of this important and necessary forum for student organizations.
