Pyatigorsk State University Improves its Position in the ARES-2020 Ranking
21.07.2020Pyatigorsk State University has improved its position in the ARES-2020 ranking of educational facilities, compiled by the European Scientific-Industrial Chamber, and for the first time made it for “A” category (high quality performance, meaning the high quality of teaching, scientific activity, and graduates demand among employers), occupying 72nd place among 278 Russian institutions. Even though the number of institutions that entered the ranking has increased almost by 25% (in 2019 ARES ranking published data about 198 Russian institutions), PSU occupies number 72, having increased its indices significantly.
(As a comparison, in 2015 the university had CCC mark and occupied the 100th place out of 138; in 2016 it acquired B+ mark and occupied the 101st place out of 173; in 2017 PSU received BB mark, occupying the 105th place out of 183; in 2018 PSU got BB+ mark and occupied the 73rd place out of 188 Russian institutions included into the ranking; in 2019 PSU got the same mark and occupied the 72nd place out of 198 Russian institutions ranked).
At present, PSU is practically within one group with federal and national research educational facilities but is a bit behind them.
According to the results of ARES-2020 ranking, PSU is ahead of Tomsk State Pedagogic University, Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University, M.V. Lomonosov North (Arctic) Federal University, M. Akmulla Bashkir State Pedagogical University, Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, all universities of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal District (apart from the Southern Federal University ranked 24; for example, our neighboring North Caucasus Federal University occupies 220th position).
