Assises Universitaires – 2020: Congress of French Language Teachers
08.10.2020Assises Universitaires – 2020: Annual Congress of French Language Teachers, organized by the Embassy of France and French Institute in Russia together with Saint Petersburg State Economic University took place from October 5 to 8, 2020.
This year the event, which unites more than 300 participants – lecturers and representatives of almost 130 universities of Russia – was to be held in Saint Petersburg, but due to the situation in the world, it took place online.
The congress’s subject concerned the timely problems: “Higher Educational Facilities and COVID-19 Pandemic: Organization of Teaching and New Challenges”.
On the first day, French Ambassador to Russia Mr. Pierre Levy, Igor Maksimtsev, Rector of Saint Petersburg State Economic University, Michael Koriche, Counselor of Education Cooperation of French Embassy in Russia, other officials as well as representatives of the range of French educational organizations: Paris Sciences Lettres, UGA, ENS told their reports at the plenary meeting.
On October 6, the following projects were presented: Francophonic Linguistic Network project, an educational platform IFprofs, library webpage of Culturethèque, educational internships for students, and lecturers from the partner universities of the French Embassy in Russia, including Pyatigorsk State University. Break-out sessions, workshops, roundtables devoted to the contemporary aspects of distant teaching of the French language started on the same day.
Our university was represented by I.Y. Kotlyarevskaya, Associate Professor at the Chair of French Philology and Intercultural Communications, Head of Francophonie - Center of French Language and Culture, and Center of Preparation for DELF and DALF Exams.
