Caucasus Scholars of PSU Take Part in the Historical Conference in Olsztyn, Poland
25.02.2021In April 2015, Pyatigorsk State University and University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, established long-term academic cooperation.
The Chair of Historical, Social, and Philosophic Disciplines, Oriental Studies and Theology (Prof. V.P. Ermakov) and Pushkin Institute – Center of Russian Language and Culture (Prof. Iwona Ndiaye) also maintain close relations within the framework of both universities cooperation.
The universities held two scientific conferences with the active participation of Caucasus historians of the chair, who work in Russian-Polish historic relations. The results of their scientific research are published in Acta Polono-Ruthenica journal, in the section “Poles in the Caucasus”. In January 2021, the next issue of Acta Polono-Ruthenica journal (XXV/4, 2020) was issued with published articles of Associate Professor V.Z. Akopyan, Professor Y.Y. Klychnikov, and S.S. Lazaryan.
All the participators of Polish and West Slavonic Linguistic, Literature, Cultural Contacts - XXII International Slavistic Conference, which took place in Olsztyn in June 2020, received certificates. The conference's organization was backed by Associate Professor V.A. Mishin, Head of the Department of International Relations and Educational Programs.
