On January 20, 2022, IRGLIHT held an online meeting, initiated by the French Embassy in the Russian Federation.

Roselyne Marty, Attache of Cooperation, Professor A.A. Kornienko, International Activities Manager at the Chair of French Philology and International Communication, Associate Professor G.E. Kotlyarevskaya, Director of the Center of French Language and Culture “Frankphonie” discussed new forms of cooperation between the Chair and universities of French and Belgium with French Embassy.

A.A. Kornienko, International Relations Manager, told about all stages of the close partnership of the Chair with universities of Limoges, Lille (France), Liege (Belgium) starting from the first cooperation agreement, signed in 1998. The French Embassy representative emphasized the efficiency of the partnership and highly appreciated the statistics on student and lecturer mobility.

During a process of a fruitful opinion exchange, the meeting members discussed the difficulties that appear while implementing the agreements. They also focused on the fact that even during the pandemic, master’s and bachelor’s students of IRGLIHT continue participating in double diploma and exchange education programs at partner universities.

A search for opportunities to receive foreign students from French and Belgian universities for them to have an academic practice at PSU was another subject of discussion. The plan was designed together with Limoges University but has not been implemented due to the pandemic.

The last discussion issue concerned the regular participation of the lecturers of the Chair of French Philology and Intercultural Communication in international congresses, organized by the French Embassy, universities of France, and International Association of the Applied Foreign Languages Teachers, as well as the participation of foreign colleagues in the events, organized by the Chair and Institute of Romance and German Languages, Informational and Humanitarian Technologies.
