Выпускники университета из Вьетнама посещают ПГУ


Graduates of Pyatigorsk State Pedagogic Institute of Foreign Languages of 1973-1974 years fr om Vietnam, who were the first foreign students to train in our University and who used their skills in their professional activity in their motherland came to visit PSU.

After 44 years they decided to visit their Alma Mater and the city of their youth.

At the meeting with Professor A.P. Gorbunov, Rector of the university, V.E. Mishin, Head of the Department of International Ties and Educational Programs, A.A. Gevorgyan, chairwoman of the Graduates Association, Vietnamese guests shared their memories about student years, tutors who were not only their study mentors but also mentors in perception of life, its values, and also about a role, which our university played in their lives and professional growth.

For example, Nguen Manh Hung worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and ended his career as Ambassador and Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Nguen Bak Hoa passed the long way from a lector to the dean of the English Language Department at Ho Chi Minh University. For many years Truong Thi Hoa and Dao Thi Nhuong have been working at Vietnamese universities, Mrs. Ho Le Zung worked as oil company CEO Assistant, and Nguan Thu Ba headed a department of tourism in Ho Chi Minh. The guests told that many other graduates of the PSPIFL worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, including Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors in Australia, China, Mongolia, and other countries, in different mass media, cultural and educational establishments of Vietnam.

Vietnamese graduates visited the Museum of PSU History and left their notes in the Book of Dignitary Guests. They were shown around the main building of PSU, built after their graduation, learned about new possibilities and classrooms equipment, and commended the changes and conditions, created for the PSU students.

PSU Mediacenter workers and editors-in-chief of university journals, - Otkryvayuschiy Mir, and Nash Universitet newspaper – G.A. Vykhristyuk, and V.V. Ayrapetova interviewed the guests. At the end of the meeting, they recorded a video message to the different years' graduates, wh ere Vietnamese guests marked the significance of the university and its contribution into the personal and professional development of not only Russian but foreign students as well.

The guests enjoyed walking around Pyatigorsk, a city which became dear for the Vietnamese graduates and close to their hearts, a reminder of their long-past student youth.
