The Chair of International Law, Justice, and Law Enforcement Activity is a part of the Juridical Institute of PSU. The Chair graduates students on:
- bachelor’s program, with the major of 40.03.01 Jurisprudence (International Law, International Energy Industry) (supervised by P.N. Durneva);
- specialist’s program on 40.05.04 Judicial and Procuracy Work (Judicial work) (supervised by P.N. Durneva);
- secondary vocational education on 40.02.03 Law and Judicial Administring (supervised by A.V. Ukrainchik).
The Chair provides for the educational process not only at the Judicial Institute of PSU, but also at the Institute of International Relations, and Higher School of Management. At present, the chair gives more than 80 disciplines.
The principal goal of the chair’s activity is to provide for the qualitative educational process and coordinated implementation of academic, methodological, scientific, and educational work in a process of realization of educational programs on juridical and other focus areas.
At present, the Chair employs 5 people, including 3 candidates of juridical sciences. The Chair focuses on fundamental studies and applied for work in the sphere of international public, international private, and European law.
The Chair’s teaching staff is actively involved in the scientific and research work with high indices of publication activity on timely issues of international and Russian law, they participate in international, all-Russian conferences and forums, take advanced training courses in the educational organizations and centers.
The teaching staff of the Chair takes an active part in the implementation of the whole range of additional educational programs together with MIALE. Leading lecturers of the chair participate in the world of School of Law, a unique social- and career-guided project, which aims at spreading juridical knowledge among high school students of the region.
Students of the profile majors regularly take part in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the most significant and prestigious competition in the world in a form of gameplay. It gathers teams from more than 600 universities from 80 countries. The jury comprises active judges of the UN International Court, European Human Rights Court, lawyers of international organizations, Russian and foreign law businesses, and lecturers of law.
The Chair of International Law, Justice, and Law Enforcement Activity has been following the traditions of the Chair of International and European Law in the educational structure of the Juridical Institute since 2014. The reorganization of the chair was a result of the broadening of the educational program list, which is provided by the Juridical Institute, and a necessity of introduction of new approaches to organization and coordination of an academic process on the educational programs.
At present, the Chair is headed by Polina Nikolaevna Durneva, Candidate of Juridical Sciences.
